What do I do about my dog’s sharp dew claws?
Your dog may hurt herself with sharp dew claws and there is also chance that it might cause unintentional harm to someone else who get close to the dog. But you are worried to take any step yourself as you fear you might hurt the dog while cutting the nails.
You can take the following steps to solve the problem:
1. Be courageous and give it a try your-self. Get a good pair of nail-clippers, hold the paw tightly so that the dog can not pull it away and cut the nail carefully. Beware of the position of the internal blood vessel while clipping, otherwise clipping will cause bleeding.
2. If you think idea of cutting nail is too much for you, you can use a nail file to rub the sharp points away. This process is much less riskier than cutting the nails.
3. Or take the least risky path, take the dog to a professional dog-groomer it will be best option if you have a large dog who does not like being quiet.
